    Longstanding organic phosphorus intoxication
     

    T2-weighted MR image reveals hyperintense changes in the putamina, caudate nuclei, and in the parietooccipital cortices.

     
    Area of Interest: unknown; Imaging Technique: Longstanding organic phosphorus intoxication;

    T1-weighted (inversion recovery) MR image shows apparent hypointensity (like CSF) of the putamia containing pieces of tissue, reflecting destruction of these structures. The caudate nuclei are less affected.
