male, 56 year(s)

  • Figure 1
CT scan of the abdomen after contrast injection, arterial phase.

Is clearly recognizable the presence of metastatic spreading in both adrenal glands that result invaded by solid, calcified masses.

The para-renal fat tissue and the spleen result invaded by the peripheric portion on the tumor.

The tumor completely disrupt the renal architecture pushing the normal parenchyma towards the spine. Inside the mass is also well represented a diffuse necrotic component.

  • Figure 2
CT scan of the abdomen after contrast injection: venous phase.

Flow phenomena in the inferior vena cava mimic neoplastic trombosis. On the contrary, full venous acquisition shows no invasion of vascular structures.

  • Figure 3
    3D reconstructed CT images.

In the 3D reconstructed images the invasion of the lower pole of the spleen by the expanding renal mass is demonstrated even more clearly than in standard 2D images.
